Polycarbonate greenhouses<\/a>, covered with polyethylene foil or glass, which used to be an integral part of the colour of Czech gardens, are increasingly disappearing. Most Czech gardeners are switching to greenhouses made of modern materials, especially polycarbonate. <\/p>\n

Types of polycarbonate surfaces<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

There are greenhouses with several types of polycarbonate surface, mostly hollow polycarbine<\/a>nate. Its name comes from the internal structure of this modern material. These are two or more layers of transparent polycarbonate films, connected by a large number of connecting ribs, which create a large number of cavities inside the material. Boards with a protective layer against UV radiation on the outside and a special colourless coating on the inside, which reduces the surface tension of the material and facilitates drainage. <\/p>\n

Cellular polycarbonate sheets<\/a> must be at least 4 mm<\/a> thick. The optimal parameter is 6mm<\/a> \u2013 8mm<\/a> (in winter) or 10mm<\/a> \u2013 such material successfully withstands load even during year-round use. This construction provides hollow polycarbonate with unique properties – excellent light and heat transfer, high durability, low weight and a much lower price than, for example, glass. <\/p>\n

The best and strongest greenhouses are made on the basis of galvanized steel steels<\/a>, metal thickness 1-1.2 mm, they are stainless steel – hot-dip galvanized, and therefore a high-quality construction will protect the harvest forever. Honest manufacturers switched to production with steel structures. <\/p>\n

What to pay attention to when choosing a galvanized steel frame greenhouse:<\/p>\n

– Metal thickness \u2013 min 1 mm<\/p>\n

– It is better to choose a structure using hot-dip galvanizing than painted. Hot-dip galvanizing guarantees protection against corrosion for many years. <\/p>\n
